For the next four weeks we place emphasis on waiting, preparation, anticipation, and expectation of the coming Messiah. We already know the outcome. Jesus, God in the flesh like us, came to live like one of us to show us the way, the truth, and the life. The truth is Jesus established God's kingdom here on earth for God's kingdom lives in the hearts and lives of those who understand the basic relationships of life: our relationship with God, our relationship with others, our relationship with self, and our relationship with the universe or the environment.
As we wait, we learn some truths about God:
- God is faithful for God's love never ends. (Lamentations 3:22,23)
- God's love will remain even though the mountains move and the hills disappear. (Isaiah 54:1-10)
- God is with us. God is active in our lives and in the universe. (Psalm 124)
We wait with anticipation because we know what God promises God will do. May you find love, joy, and peace. May your eyes be open to see, your ears be open to hear, and your mouth ready to affirm that Jesus is Lord and Jesus reigns for God's kingdom is here.
